Jim Duvall presents “2010-2614”

The graceful position and flowing hair on this beautiful model, clean rigging and interesting lighting are important elements that combine to make this image another fine example of the art of shibari.  Notice, this model is suspended only by the rope around her thigh and bent leg.  This is a difficult rigging construction that is used only with experienced shibari models.  This is a very nice image. Alexander Neptune presents “Gone”

Shibari rigging frequently induces physiological conditions known as “sub space” and “top space”, which are similar to the “runners high” experienced by athletes.  You can see, by the expression on her face, this model is enjoying her euphoric condition. This is another very nice example of shibari art including a beautiful model, classic shibari rigging and excellent photography. Continue reading

Stefano Laforgia presents “Old memories”

This beautiful picture was taken during a Hanami celebration, where people enjoy the beauty of cherry blossoms.  Appropriately, this lovely model is wearing a cherry red kimono with excellent ropework during a nice partial suspension.  This is a wonderful example of people enjoying their shibari in a clean, clear, fresh air outdoor environment.  I’m sure it brings back not only old, but also very good memories for them. Lew Rubens presents “Fetish Justice”

Soft curves, straight lines, symmetry, color, controlled lighting, and selective exposure were brought together perfectly by three very accomplished artists, the rigger, model and photographer, to create this beautiful image. This is a great example of using non traditional shibari to create art. Spectacular! Continue reading

DallasKink presents “Cheeky on ‘The Madge'”

A beautiful model in shibari rigging suspended from a secluded tree or an old abandoned bridge is a frequent theme for wonderful shibari images. However, some riggers and photographers like to perform shibari suspensions in publicly visible venues. This image of a beautiful model suspended from a modern bridge visible to anyone shows why DallasKink is one of the best practitioners of “guerilla shibari”. Continue reading
