“It’s Showtime, Folks“.
( I always liked Roy Scheider’s line in the movie, All That Jazz.)
This is a shibari ballet themed image from a light sculpture photoshoot I did with Jamie S. It is a not a traditional shibari image. This is one of our interpretations of contemporary shibari art. We like it and hope you do too. Continue reading
Sometimes, a ballet theme is used by riggers and models in creating their shibari art. Visual sculpture … This is an example of how Jim Duvall uses shibari techniques to shape bodies into poses they cannot attain. Alberto Lisi aka Hikari Kesho is a famous fashion and shibari photographer who’s work has been displayed in gallery exhibits and featured in many publications.
This is not a classic shibari image. Lew Rubens (from Orlando, Florida) used his shibari rigging skills to create a beautiful spider-like web to catch his pretty model. This is another example of people from all over the world having fun and creating contemporary shibari art. Continue reading
This is a non-traditional shibari image. Very, very few photographers would be able to create an image as beautiful as this one. It is another example of people creating and enjoying contemporary shibari art. Continue reading
